Thomastik-Infeld are a well-known manufacturer of premium strings for a variety of instruments, including acoustic guitars. Their acoustic guitar strings are renowned for their high quality and superior sound. Thomastik are split into two types of strings, Plectrum & Spectrum Strings.

Plectrum Strings, the jazz strings, offer have an almost classical tone to them with lower overall tension. The silk inlays (producing overtone balance) is what gives the classical tone to the strings. There is also a hybrid arrangement on the winding of the strings, E6 are round wound strings but A,D and G are a flat wound string. This combination gives Plectum a Jazz Strings feel.
